Default What are your favorite activities to do with your preschooler?

My preschooler is such a sweetheart. He's 4 1/2 and such a handful. I love cuddling up to him at bedtime and reading him stories. I love sneaking up on him and giving him a "surprise hug". I love getting down and physical with him in a wrestle in the middle of the living room. I take all the hugs and kisses I can get from him because they are starting to get pretty stingy :( But I always get one before he goes to bed at night. I love watching him play with the baby *usually* he is so gentle and loving with his brother. I love watching him walk out the door with his Daddy so they can go do their "guy" stuff. He's a sweetheart, but also quite the handful and I find myself counting to 10 many times trying to remember that, too soon, he's going to be headed off to kindergarten and these times with him will just be memories.

My favorite activities with my pre-schooler are when I pick him up from school on my way home. This is our special time together to talk about our day. I ask him what he did and we talk about everything. It makes him feel very important because he gets to tell about all the good and bad things that he did. I tell him about my day, so that he knows that mommy has been busy too.

Another activity I love to do with my pre-schooler is when we go to his room together and get on his bed and we read stories. A lot of times I will sit on his bed with him and I will make up a story as we go along and will make him the center character. He loves to think that he is doing all of these things that I tell him a story about and it helps get his imagination going.

What do I love? Let me count the ways...
Watching him concentrate
Cuddling for a story
Running around the house, being a gorilla/dog/firefighter/truck (pick one!)
Going to the park and hearing his giggles as I push him on the swing
We do a lot of artwork - he has lots of blank paper (few coloring books), crayons, markers, paint, stickers, glue and scissors, and it's fun to just let him go at it. The best way to show your kids you love them is to enjoy them and be engaged TOGETHER in wholesome activities. It's so rewarding!

My preschooler's favorite thing to do with me is a craft! Sometimes we make "drums" out of old formula cans or oatmeal boxes. Sometimes we paint, or make holiday decorations.Sometimes, she just likes it when I read to her.

My favorite thing to do with my 4 1/2 y/o is the dishes, we put the toddler down for a nap, and we get busy, I wash she rinses and we just talk about what ever she wants to talk about, sometimes it's pre-school, sometimes it's just chatter about her favorite things. It's one of the only times in the day thats just hers and it makes her feel important, becuase I am paying all my attention to her and she's helping me do something the baby can't. I am tresuring the time because someday she won't want to talk to me, or do the dishes! : )

My son will be four in a month. I think our favorite thing to do together is make bread. I use adding the ingredients as a way help him learn to count, but I don't think he has the idea that two half cups make just ONE cup yet...

He loves to pound on the dough and seems very proud of having loaves of bread that he has helped make.

Some favorite things I like to do with my 20 month old daughter are singing nursery rhymes and acting them out. She loves the itsy bitsy spider for example. I also read to her each day and she is learning quite a bit like some colors, numbers and letters. It is very dear to my heart to see that she has a good time with Mommy!

My four year old son loves sitting on my lap while we play pre-school computer games together. On warm afternoons we enjoy going on walks. He holds my hand while we walk, and he is usually very chattery. He's such a snuggle bug too. I love watching his childrens' shows with him in the morning, because he loves to sit on my lap.
